I have honestly never been more disappointed in a destination.... the facilities are really nice but the people who work there are always trying to get in your pockets and hold no regard for your experience while you are there!!! ABSOLUTELY NO CUSTOMER SERVICE! Just keep looking....
We recently brought our family here for our sons 6th birthday, we booked online and had a late arrival. We found that they put us in the house they called a cabin right next to the office/store... not what I had in mind for a camping birthday so after I paid the 179$ for two nights I asked if they could allow us to move to one of the smaller/cheaper real cabins because we weren't even in the park and we wanted that experience for our son.... there were approximately 30-40 empty cabins but they refused to let us move even though we had already paid..... they claimed they didn't have any available. t we spent over $600 for the so called cabin and golf cart rental.... apparently they have nothing better to do than spy on you the whole time because when I had my 18 year old daughter drive the golf cart to go get my sons shoes out of the wash room dryer, shortly after the office worker marched over to our so called cabin in the middle of our birthday party and demanded a copy of her license because she "saw" her drive the golf cart..... keep in mind we already signed all necessary documents to accept full responsibility of the cart! Not to mention while she is interrupting our birthday party she says very rudely "did you read all the papers with your registration" she said anybody who comes here to visit has to pay $5 for a day pass even though I told her when I checked in that we were having a birthday party and asked where she would like our guests to park.... she never mentioned this extra cost which I said well okay I guess we will pay for all of my sons birthday guests.... keep in mind this is on top of the $600 we had already spent! Then as she walks off she rudely points out how dirty one of my guests car is!
The person that booked my original reservation messed up and no one at Marval would own up to the issue. They would only follow their corporate policy of no refunds for any reason within 30 days of a holiday.
If you choose to stay here, get everything in writing. they will not admit to their mistakes.
A great place to vacation! Saturdays during October, kids can trick or treat. Many decorate their campsite and really make it fun! This is the 3rd year for us. We've added cabins from one, to two, and this year FOUR! We now have a great place for a family reunion!
I've been to several campgrounds over the past few decades and this one is amongst my favorites. Very peaceful with plenty of activities for both children and adults.
Wonderful camping and a beautiful river. Clean showers and restrooms. 2 pools wow and they are very clean. Awesome activities.
During my first trip to Marval on Labor Day 2016, it was very pleasant and we had no issues. I actually rebooked the exact same spots that we had then for Labor Day 2017. about two weeks before the weekend, I emailed them to confirm the cabin numbers. I was told that my parents did not have the same cabin and that they would be at the opposite end of the park. I explained to them that I specifically booked the same cabin as 2016 but they told me that there was nothing they could do. I was able to rebook to a 2 person cabin instead of a larger 8 person, but they would not refund the difference. When I researched the issue, I saw that their email confirmation does not show the number of the cabin you rent.
